^ma 36 80 ^pl 88 1 3 ^ju ^co********** TRANSLATOR PAGE PRINT ********** ^sk0 ^ju--------------------------------------------- ^sk0for a HP71, Translator ROM & Thinkjet Printer ^sk0--------------------------------------------- ^sk1To get a proper output from this program IT IS VITALLY IMPORTANT that the user sets 'Perforation On' mode with PRINT CHR$(27)&"&l1L" OUTSIDE the program. The consequences of attempting to do so as part of the program will be twofold: Firstly; The paper will advance one line which will spoil the 60 lines per page format AND Secondly; If the user attempts to mitigate the effects of the first pitfall by terminating the 'Perforation On' instruction with a semicolon (";") the NEAT column printing will be totally disrupted ! ^sk1In its present form, this program will only accept HP41 program lines of upto and including 14 characters ! ^sk1Having used the Translator ROM to create a Text file containing a translated HP41 series program the user can use this program to produce a printout of the program four columns wide, spread across the page in such a way that Col 1 goes from line 1 to line 60, Col 2 from line 61 to line 120, Col 3 from line 121 to line 180 and Col 4 from line 181 to line 240. Where ther are LESS than 240 lines om a page the program produces a combination of one or more 'full' columns and one 'part' column. The program is set to the 80 col/60 line format but the article is printed in 80 col/80 line format in order to save space. I have tried to use the 142 col mode but the quality is such that reproduction might be marginal. ^sk1Some HP41 symbols are not recognised by the Thinkjet and so the neat column printing may be disrupted. One further point to be remembered when using the program - The first thing it does is to count the number of records in the textfile so some time (when the display shows 'running...') will pass before any printing occurs. ^sk1Some HP41 prgram lines (those containing 'synthetic' instructions ?) may cause the Thinkjet to trip into 40 col mode - be warned! ^sk1You will find the example alongside. ^sk1The user instructions for this program are very simple - At the prompt 'Filename: ' the user should enter the name of the TEXTFILE containing the HP41 program and then key ENDLINE. A 4 col per page format program listing will result.
