SWPDMDES - Swap Disc Management Description Version 1.0 <871009.1200> Two files make up the Swap Disc Management system: SWPDM the program in text file format SWPDMDES a description file Purpose: SWPDM has been designed to help the HP-71 owner easily examine the contents of a swap disc and make notes on files of interest. Overview: A directory list of the disc must first be obtained using DIRALL71 (SWAP06). This file, default name DIRFL, is used by SWPDM to provide the names of the files on the disc and their types. HP-71 TEXT files (LIF1) and HP-71 BASIC files can be displayed or printed under control of the program. An opportunity for entering comments is given for any type of file. Comments are stored in a file, default name CMTFILE, in a form useable, if desired, by the PORTER program of the WorkBook71 package by Richard Harvey. Movement through the directory file is controlled by the up and down arrow keys, normal and shifted, or by searching for a file name. If you leave the program and return at a later time, SWPDM will pick up from where you last were in the directory file. LEX Files Needed: SWPDM requires PILEXTLX, CUSTUTIL, STRINGLX and EDLEX. Random Notes: To end the program at the initial prompts for directory file, comment file, or drive, enter a /E. To get out of the search mode enter a /E or press return without entering a name. To halt the display or printing of a text file, press the Q (for quit) key. BASIC files are copied to :main and then LISTed or PLISTed. To halt this operation, press the ATTN key and then CONT. SWPDM will resume with an options menu. Problems: If there are any problems, questions, or requests please contact me at: Dennis R. Kolpanen Box 319 Allamuchy, NJ 07820 U.S.A
